KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares Sales Reports and annual Sales & Marketing Plan
  • Create effective Sales Programs that will increase awareness and positive perception of the Hotels, its activities, culinary services, and personnel.
  • Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors.
  • Ability to access, understand and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Assist Managing Director in preparation of the marketing, advertising, sales plans, programs, and annual budget; manages within approved plans and budgets.
  • Develop rates, group sales deployment strategies through a review of competitive data, demand analysis, and mix management.
  • Sound understating and knowledge of digital marketing strategies and social media marketing.
  • Ability to develop and foster business through pro-active direct sales, hotel sales, marketing, telemarketing, direct mail, appointment calls and tours of the hotel. Also develops strategic action plans for hotels to drive measurable, incremental sales revenue.
  • Ability to present and promote the hotels with local/foreign DMC’s.
  • Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A professional qualification in sales (SLIM, CIM or any other accredited sales and marketing institution) is compulsory.
  • Possess minimum 3 – 5 years working experience in a similar capacity within the hospitality industry with a strong focus on sales – both B2B and B2C.
  • Proven track record of delivering sales results in the short and long term.
  • Networking with prospective customers to increase market penetration.
  • Experience in managing sales budgets, sales teams and liaising with reservations and front office staff.
  • Excellent command of both, English and Sinhala Language [written and oral].
  • Candidate within the age of 35 to 45.
